On behalf of the National Day of Prayer Task Force and BlessDurham, you and your congregation are cordially invited to join other Christians for the corporate observance of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 12:00 noon. This time of prayer will coincide with thousands of others across the nation as Christians pray publicly and seek God together for our cities, states, and nation.
This year we have been invited to gather at The Duke Chapel. The theme is from Acts 18:10: “For I Have Many People in This City.” Beginning at noon, we will worship and pray for Durham’s communities, families, businesses, education, government, state, and nation. At 12:45pm we will have a Commissioning Service. We are asking all pastors to help commission God’s people to impact the world for Christ.
Reserved parking for this event will be at the Bryan Center Parking Deck on Duke West Campus. There will be a small fee and a campus map is enclosed with this mailing. Signs will be posted to direct people to the deck and to the Chapel. This parking area is the closest and most accessible to the Chapel!
Everyone is invited to a complimentary lunch following the service, on the lawn outside Duke Chapel. We’ll meet new friends, renew old friendships, and encourage one another about the exciting things that God is doing in Durham. Please RSVP by May 1, 2011 to wendy@belovedcommunitync.com or by calling (919) 251-6187.
