On February 2nd, Gang Reduction Strategy Steering Committee of Durham will be offering a free workshop.

Although some focus will be on organizations serving at-risk youth, all non-profits will benefit by attending sessions on general topics conducted by Duke’s Non Profit Management Program staff.

Date/Time: Thursday February 2, 2012   9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

9:00 – 9:15     Sign-in, refreshments

9:15 – 9:30    Overview of At-Risk Youth (Criminal Justice Resource Center staff)

9:30 – 9:45  Non-profit funding trends (Criminal Justice Resource Center staff)

9:45 – 10:00    JCPC funding (Criminal Justice Resource Center staff)

10:00 – 10:30   Performance measurement and identification as “evidenced based” (Nonprofit Management Program Duke University Continuing Studies staff)

10:30 – 11:00   The role of board members, executive directors, paid staff and volunteers  (Nonprofit Management Program Duke University Continuing Studies staff)

11:00 – 11:30   Collaboration – the C word: Why should I widen my tent? (Nonprofit Management Program Duke University Continuing Studies staff)

11:30 – 1:00    Lunch and networking:  During this time, all attendees will have an opportunity to provide information about their organization

  • Attendees are encouraged to join the Prevention/Intervention Coalition (a sign-up sheet will be provided)
  • The workshop is free and lunch is included
